Chickadee Manifesto

Technology exists to make the lives of people easier.
It should handle the mundane, boring, repetitive work so people are free to spend time on the things that truly matter and fulfill us (inspired by sentiments like this). This has always been true, and it’s especially true with technical evolutions as meaningful as AI Agents.
Right now, everyone is talking about Agents. Very few know how to build them. Fewer still know how to make them succeed (obligatory Richard Feynman reference). It takes more than piping text into an API or shipping unstructured data to an LLM. It takes real software development. It takes care, iteration, and a commitment to principles like simplicity and security. It takes a clear understanding of the problem worth solving (obligatory Albert Einstein reference).
Enter Chickadee. We’re building a company to deliver on the promise of AI Agents. We’re building a software platform and a set of Agents that work. Small, helpful, purpose-built Agents. Agents that quietly manage the details: logistics, task management, and reliability, so that people can handle the meaningful work. Think of the animated woodland creatures of many Disney films: not the protagonist, but the helpers that make the path of the hero easier, lighter, and even delightful.
We believe technology is at its best when it serves in that role: quietly competent, sometimes even charming, but always useful and trustworthy. We believe now is the moment to build that future, when most CEOs are still counting “AI adoption” by how many employees use ChatGPT at work.
At Chickadee, we don’t worship the technology, we respect and understand the problems. That’s how Agents become more than hype. That’s how they become real: software you can trust, built for people, solving real-world problems.
